Quiet and durable
The naBe criteria for IT equipment aim to procure equipment that is energy efficient, quiet and easy to repair or recycle. The naBe-criteria contain requirements for the following product groups: Monitors, desktop computers, notebooks, imaging equipment (printers etc.), smartphones and remanufactured toner modules.
Essential criteria for the procurement of IT equipment:
- Monitors must meet TCO Certified requirements
- Imaging equipment must meet the requirements of “Blauer Engel”
- Exchangeability of hard disk and drive with standard tools
- Maximum sound power level
- Recyclability of plastic casings
- Quality standards for remanufactured toner modules
- It must be possible to either make the equipment available to providers for recycling of waste IT equipment at the end of its use or to have it demonstrably recycled by the supplier of the IT equipment
- When procuring IT equipment, consider the Total Costs of Ownership (TCO), or the cost to the public sector of purchasing, using and disposing of the equipment. The naBe- Action Plan provides calculation tools.
- For the longest possible service life, it is recommended that you take out a 5-year on-site repair warranty.
